Valencia: 1 more podium for the dominant X-802 at the last race of an enthralling MotoGP season.

21 Podiums for the impressive X-802 during the 17 races of the MotoGp 2009 season, which ended in Valencia, Sunday. The indominatable Jorge Lorenzo achieved a creditable third position, this despite his Air-bag inadvertanly activating following a near crash! This 3rd position cemented his second place in the final championship standings.

Casey Stoner followed on from his recent run gained an impressive pole position but suffered a bizarre warm-up lap crash due to cold tyres and was forced to sit-out the race, unfortunately losing thrid in the championship as a result. Marco Melandri meanwhile finished his season off in fine form, starting well: he flew off the line from 15th position, at the end of the first lap he was ninth, disaster nearly struck when he ran off track, he stayed on but this relegated him back to 17th. Ending the championship in tenth place, which considering the lack of development with his Hayate machine was beyond expectation.

And now, testing commences and therefore we are already in 2010 championship.
