Doha MotoGP: Positive debut for our riders in Moto2 and Moto3, and all the best to Petrucci for a fa

After a long period of stop and tests, the most famous motorbike world championship began. Unfortunately our top driver, Danilo Petrucci, could not enter the race due to a fracture in his right hand, which occurred during the Australian tests and was intensified in Doha during FP3- all the best Danilo, we are all with you.
In Moto3, optimum result for Enea Bastianini who (after the problems encountered in the practices), scored an unexpected 5th place despite facing difficulties in acceleration. This forced him to a strong comeback race- Well done Enea.
Good 10th place for Jakub Kornfeil. In Moto2, a solid 4th place for Hafiz Syharin, who battled very strong with our former Moto3 world champion Danny Kent, the latter coming 6th under chequered flag. Stefan Bradl crashed with no consequence in MotoGP race.

Next race April 3rd in Argentina.

ENEA BASTIANINI (5th)
“Early in the race I was not feeling good with the bike: I did find it hard to release the brakes on corner entry as a result I could not turn the bike as I wanted. However, in the second half of the race I managed to be fast and so in the end I also closed the gap with the leading group, finishing in fifth place, so it’s not bad. Let’s say that it would have been different if we had been a little more ready, but we are only at the beginning of the season and we still have to work a little on the bike set up. For the moment it’s okay like that, we have collected important points and now we already look at the next few races, in which we will give our best”.

JAKUB KORNFEIL(10th)
“I feel very good with the result today, especially after having some difficult moments in qualifying. Already in Warm Up we made some very good improvements and I have to say a big thanks to my crew chief for this. We found a good combination with the tyres and suspension and the bike was working so well. I really enjoyed riding! It was a beautiful race because we had so many battles and so much passing every lap. I’m happy that I won the fight in my group. I wanted to break away with Bastianini many laps before the end but unfortunately I never arrived to the first corner first. This is one thing we need to look at over the next week; I think we still need to understand the gearbox a bit more on the Honda. Anyway I am very happy after all of these days here in Qatar, we found a good setting and we could make a good result. Top ten is a good start to the season and this is very important. For sure our chances were higher today but I’m happy to take this position and come away with points. Thanks again to my team and the sponsors for their support.”

HAFIZ SYAHRIN (4th)
“I work hard and try hard during the race to get this good 4th place, I had a problem  with the right hand and it was difficult to maintain the same lap times up to the end but I tried my best. I'm grateful that everything went well and of course I will give my best this season. Thanks to the team, family, and fans who support me for the race today.”

DANNY KENT (6th)
“I have to say thanks to the team because all weekend we’ve not had the best set up but we never gave up and slowly been creeping forwards. If we’d gone into this weekend knowing we’d be sixth we’d have been really happy with that. I know some crashed out and some jumped the start but that’s racing, we kept our cool and took sixth but we know we have to keep working hard to make the next step and with 17 races ahead of us we’ll keep getting faster and faster.”

STEFAN BRADL (DNF)
“At the start I felt good. My feeling was getting better and better every lap and consequently so were my times. The crash is hard to explain. We need to analyse the data closely to figure out what caused it. My feeling is that there was a loss of grip for both tyres in turn 15. In any case, the start was positive. I managed to get my time below 1'57 in the race, so that means that my confidence is growing lap by lap. Now it will be important to take maximum advantage of the data collected and to have a good race weekend in Argentina”
