Not even the unexpected postponement of the race to Monday night - after the rainstorm on Sunday - could change Stoner's overwhelming lead. Casey and his X-802 did not let any opponent come close. They finished first in the Free Practices, Qualifying Practices, Warm Ups, which represented just the prelude to a triumph that was never challenged. It was a solitary ride for our leading rider, bringing our Nolan X-802 - at its debut - to the top step of the podium. Jorge Lorenzo and his X-lite X-802 finished third, thus confirming the quality of this new model.
It was a shame for Melandri, who was hopeful after his good performance in the practices: he finished just 14th, due to running off track in the second lap.
