Imola SBK: Great result for Badovini.

Ayrton Badovini had an impressive weekend and finished with a strong 6th position in race 1 and 5th in race 2. In the top ten also Baiocco (8th and 6th) and Mercado (7th and 8th).
Chaz Davies had a totally unlucky weekend – retiring in both races for electric problems on his bike whilst fighting for the podium. In the championship, Chaz Davies is now fourth and Baiocco 8th.

In super stock 1000, the victory goes to our rider Lorenzo Savadori who conquered the top of the podium for the second time this year.
Next race is in Donington on the 24th of May.

“A disastrous day for us obviously. We were in a position to be able to complete two good races here today and instead we go home with nothing. In race 1 a technical problem stopped me and so I hoped to be able to make up for that in race two. But once the second race got underway, I knew something was wrong almost right away. I was using the second bike and had to press a couple of buttons to change the setting and after that the bike seemed a bit smoother. But then I started to have other issues, my foot came off the footpeg and I realized there was a little oil leaking, so I tried to be careful and hoped it wouldn’t get worse but it wasn’t possible to finish the race. A day to forget…”

“I’m really pleased with today’s two races, which went to making up for yesterday unlucky Superpole episode. I was able to see that if we’d started a little further ahead on the grid I would have been able to make a great race. A solid result in terms of the championship anyway, two good positions and consistency throughout the races. The team has worked really well and these results give us confidence for the next races. I would like to thank everyone who was here, Genesio Bevilacqua and all my staff, who never set a foot wrong and who have helped me complete two strong races. I will continue to try and repay them with results that are equal to or better than these.”

"It was a really positive weekend during which we were able to solve some problems we had in the past races. Today we could ha finished Race 1 fifth, if the race wouldn’t have been suspended by the red flag. It’s a pity, but I am satisfied with my seventh place anyway. In race two I couldn’t do a good start and in the first laps I lost some positions. I had a contact and I finished on the gravel and when I got back on track the other riders were already too far. During the last laps I was able to get closer, but it was too late. In spite of that I am really happy with the steps forward that we made this weekend! Now we have to start thinking about the next rounds“.
