JEREZ: A MAGNIFICENT DOUBLU-WIN AND A JUNIOR TITLE FOR NOLANGROUP RIDERS

Superbike delivered a great show under the heat in Jerez this weekend! Nolan Group riders achieved an array of substantial successes.   In Superbike, there were two wins for Chaz Davies combined with key results in the top ten for Camier and Salvadori. Along with these results, the weekend brought  the joy of a title: the Supersport European Cup- for Axel Bassani. Unfortunately there was a sad bitterness due to a lost championship for Tati Mercado in Superstock 1000. The Argentinian failed to start due to technical problems and left the championship to his opponent. These are races. Our company is to accustomed to winning results and even loosing ones. The message is: hold on and wait, success will arrive! In racing as in life, never give up!

SUPERBIKE:

Chaz Davies Race1,  1°

"I wasn’t sure we had enough margin to pull away, given the step forward made by the Kawasakis this morning, but we’ve been fast enough to lead from early on so I put my head down and saw the gap building. Jerez has always been a tough track for me in the past, so to turn things around and win here for the last two years is something special. I want to say thanks to the team, they worked so hard during the summer break to improve the balance of the bike. I feel like I understand the limit a lot better now and I’m perhaps in the best form in my entire career. Maybe it’s a bit too late, but all we can do is finish strong and see where that takes us for next season".

Chaz Davies Race2, 1st

"To win four races in a row is just unreal. Lately I’ve been very confident and able to push 100 percent every lap, just dancing on the bike. Also, I managed to get the best start of the year and entered turn 1 just behind Sykes. I think he was trying to save his tyres, so I took the opportunity because I knew we could run our pace for the whole race. Today, the key was to manage the grip. I was a little mindful at the start, because the hotter conditions made the track more slippery, but in the end I could see the gap building and then it was just a case of bringing it home. Without getting overconfident, we’ll try to make it sixth in a row to get second position in the championship."

Leon Camier Race1, 7th

"Honestly, I am quite happy with our results. I was struggling a little bit more then I want in the Race, but we know it would be a difficult race for us considering we miss some time during the qualifying. I think I and the team did a really good job and for sure we can make another step tomorrow"

Lorenzo Savadori Race1, 13th

"Mine was a very satisfactory race, we are in positions that do not compete and we must understand what is and what has happened. We should certainly improve for tomorrow. Now the work with boys Aprilia and Iodaracing is to understand how to solve the problem for the race tomorrow. We’ll try to use all the data at our disposal to deal with race 2 in the best conditions."

Lorenzo Savadori Race2, 10th

"I cannot say I’m 100% happy with this tenth place, but this result is certainly a small step ahead of the race yesterday. I very much engaged in this race and I think more than that we would not be able to do. The end result is positive, but we must build on all that has happened this weekend to further improve our performance. I thank Aprilia and Iodaracing for the work of these days."

SUPERSPORT

Axel Bassani  5th (1st Supersport European Cup)

"I am extremely happy! Achieving the European title makes me proud, it rewards the work of a whole season together with a wonderful team. After yesterday’s crash in Superpole, the guys were able to fix the bike in a very short time and today I had a good feeling on the bike. I did my pace, I reply to every overtaking of Cluzel because I knew I had something more and to be able to achieve a good result. After this successful season I want to thank the whole team, the Italian Motorcycling Federation, San Carlo and those who made possible the experience: now it’s time to celebrate!”

SUPERSTOCK 1000

Michael Ruben Rinaldi 8th
"I was hoping to do more, but in this round we struggled with tires used both in practice and in the race. We were also a bit 'unlucky because Guarnoni crashed in front of me and I had to avoid closing the throttle, losing positions and contact with the leaders. We have been competitive everywhere this year, even if not in the race we always materialize the potential and reaped the fruits of our labor. I paid a little 'inexperience, but the balance is positive and I thank the whole team for the great support."
