We at Nolan Group thank Laia Sanz, not only for the impressive result she acheived in the Dakar, but also the level of commitment and effort she put in to do so. Throughout the event she struggled & fought against the pain, as well as direct opponents racing in and around the same area even up until the final stage managing an impressive twelfth place finish!
Even on the final day Laia was acheiving times above her position, showing how strong of a rider & a person she is! The determination to go & stay ahead of Daniel Nosiglia was the catalyst for the great times Laia acheived. What a result it turned out to be! And here’s Laia’s thoughts on the final day.
"I was nervous, I wanted to pass Nosiglia at all costs and there was really a lot of dust on this special round, but I seemed crazy, then I reached and I passed and at that point I calmed down even if we left only 30" of distance, I knew that if it did not pass me I was the twelfth absolute.
I am happy to have finished my eighth Dakar. I've completed all the races I've partecipated to and I know perfectly well that this is never an easy thing. I am obviously happy with the result. I'm very close to the top ten and I think I could not have asked for anything better. I think it was a hard Dakar, but at the same time very beautiful. I have to congratulate the organization that has been able to draw a very demanding path, but at the same time a beautiful one. We have found practically everything: so much off-road and a Dakar must be like that. "
