Le Mans, French Grand Prix: An Unlucky Race for Nolan's Riders

It was truly an unlucky weekend for Nolan's riders. Stoner, who was fighting for a place on the podium even though his front tire was giving him problems, had to withdraw due to problems with his engine. After fairly mediocre test sessions, Melandri made progress in the Warm Up session, but his Ducati stalled on the starting grid. After a race in the pursuit of his competitors, with the first drops of rain he tried an early change of bike hoping for the weather to worsen, but it didn't. He finished the race in 15th place. In the 125 cc class, Olivè wasn't any luckier. The race was stopped 6 laps from the end due to rain while he was in the lead and 5 laps were assigned to the second session. His difficult start in the second session led to an 8th place finish that still leaves him in second place in the overall world standings.
