Last Monday 26th October, Portimao circuit, our rider Mika Ahola, three times enduro World Champion, tasted high speed emotions with Jonathan Rea's Honda SBK. Mika had two sessions on the track with Rea’s Fireblade, posting a best lap speed of 290km/h! The lap record pace is 330km/h
"On the back straight the bike was like a missile but it wasn’t so difficult" – Mika has affirmed – "After controlling the wheelies and trying to stay attached to the handlebar, I have not had so many problems! In the bends however, I was so slow whilst Rea did 190 km/h! Obviously Mika wore an X-lite helmet in this extra test too. His trusty X-501 was replaced with the racing model X-802 in the newest Indy version.
It was a pity that last week end, Ahola caught a bad case of flu and he couldn’t take part at the first race of the 2009/2010 Indoor Enduro World Championship, held in Sheffield, Great Britain.
We are sure that Mika will race again at his best in Genoa on the 5th December!
