MISANO SUPERBIKE: SUMMER AND SEA ON MARCO’S MIND

Melandri to race at Misano with a special version of his X-802 that will then be auctioned to raise money for earthquake victims
The traditional race meet at the Misano autodrome marks the last Italian race of this year’s World Superbike Championship. Fighting for top place on the podium will be the Italian rider from Emilia Romagna: Marco Melandri, already with two consecutive victories at his back.

To mark the occasion, Marco has decided to personalise his Nolan X-802 with a special livery created in collaboration with Max Design: the fishes of all colours and kinds recall the summer and Marco’s passion for the sea. His helmet too will be transformed into a scene from the seabed. Even his lucky hedgehog will be wearing flippers and a snorkel.

Yet not just for show, this helmet is part of the rider’s laudable fundraising initiative: at the end of the race, it will go to auction, with the proceeds going to help the victims of the earthquake that recently struck his home region of Emilia Romagna.
It’s a gesture that will send them tangible help alongside the influx of well wishes.

A replica of the helmet will be included as part of the 2013 Nolan Collection.
