Monza Superstock: an all X-lite podium for Badovini, Magnoni and Beretta creates History!

Dubious weather forecasts did nothing to dampen the spirits and performance of our X-lite riders in the World Superstock race here at the fifth round of the championship, held in Monza, Italy. A large and knowledgable crowd had gathered in anticipation of what proved to be a great weekend of racing at the beloved Monza Park Circuit. Ayrton Badovini, unbeaten  this season claimed 1st, Michele Magnoni took 2nd and top “gun” Daniele Beretta came in 3rd! Not content with all 3 steps of the podium, Daniele Petrucci scored 5th and Bussolotti came 8th! In general standings Badovini is 1st and Magnoni is now in 2nd.
Superbikes saw our Carlos Checa struggle with top speed abopard his twin cylinder Ducati whilst some of the 4 cyclinder riders shattered top speed records! Managing a lowly 14th in race 1 and an 11th place in race 2, Carlos was naturally very dissapointed but was optimistic about the next round. German racer, Max Neukirchner came twelth both in race 1 and in race 2.  Spaniard, David Salom took 8th in the Supersport class. In general standings Carlos is drops down 1 place to 5th.
Next appointment on Sunday 16th May is Kyalami in South Africa.
