Motegi MotoGp: Good Results for our Riders.

In Moto3, the bad weather affected the performance of our drivers as the race was shortened due to the start being delayed. Kent, leader of the championship, had to settle for 6th place which is still an important result. He was followed by Bastianini 7th, Hanika 8th and Locatelli 14th. In Moto2, a good result for Syahrin 5th and Schrotter 9th. Petrucci was unlucky in MotoGP as he crashed when he was fighting with the chasing pack.
Next race in Australia next weekend.

Our congratulations to Michele Pirro and Massimo Roccoli respectively winners of the Italian championship of Superbike and Supersport.

“I’m really, really happy with the outcome of this weekend. You may know that we came here with the goal to extend our lead in the championship – as is the case for every race – and even though we did it by just a single point, we achieved this goal and there are just three races remaining in which we just have to collect 19 points and we’re World Champion. So from this point of view it’s all a lot more to our favour and, honestly speaking, a lot of pressure is off my shoulders now, so we can go to Australia and feel a bit calmer. I think it’s quite normal for a rider who is in this situation fighting for a World Championship for the first time, so it’s normal to feel a pressure. But now we go into the next races without pressure and try to win races again. The changed weather conditions already this morning didn’t affect me, but the first couple of laps in the race were difficult because I got passed. On the other side I was a bit worried of someone crashing and taking me out. I think I managed my race pace well, as soon I got into my rhythm. Like I already said, the pressure is off, but I also think that Enea has to concentrate on Oliveira from now on. So he doesn’t only have to think about me, but he has to think about his second place in the standings, so he doesn’t get caught by Oliveira in the last races.”

“This morning in the Warm Up I was not fast in the wet, so I was a bit worried ahead of the race: I thought I couldn’t take points in these conditions. Actually we defended ourselves well, the seventh place is a good result. At the start I tried to attack immediately, but it took me a bit of time to take a good rhythm: probably if I was fastest in Warm Up we could understand more things with regard to the set-up and I could start the race better, but that’s okay. Now we look forward to Australia, where in addition to try to recover  points on Kent have to try to hold off Oliveira, who approached us in the standings”.

“I’m happy with this result! I thought I couldn’t score points in this race, but the conditions and the fact that they have reduced the number of laps helped me. In fact I was struggling a lot to ride in the final stages. Too bad only for the early stages of the race: I had a good start recovering immediately several positions, but then I lost contact with the group of riders in front of me because of some contacts. I still had a lot of difficulty in riding throughout the whole race and this certainly did not help me, but stay on the bike helps me to regain confidence. Also, the two points scored today give me a great charge ahead of the upcoming races on two beautiful tracks. We just have to be positive to return slowly in top form”.

“It's shame because I had a very good start. Then I started to feel the bike struggling too much. I tried to overcome Iannone but I didn't succeed. Then the front tire started to miss grip. I didn't expected to fall in that point but as soon as I left the brakes I slipped. I'm sorry because we were doing an honorable race and because we threw away precious points. I was struggling a lot and perhaps I asked too much to front tire. During the whole weekend I never found the right feeling in breaking. Fortunately there is no time to think about it. Let's move to Australia. I can not wait to be there.  ”
