MOTOGP, VALENCIA: WET CLOSURE FOR NOLANGROUP RIDERS

The final weekend of MotoGP 2018, the title had already been decided, many of the racers still had plenty to fight for. But a lot of thoughts will already be focused on the tests for 2019!

Tough race for Danilo Petrucci, but he will console himself knowing he’ll be racing the factory Ducati in 2019! Great race by Alex Rins again, but so unfortunate to have the victory taken away by the interruption of the red flag.

Congratulations to all of our other riders too, some at the end of a successful season, others who will be relieved to be moving onto 2019.

For now, the MotoGP is really over, there are some tests, but many spectators will be counting down for the 2019 season.

And you, bikers, are you on a break? Do not tell us that you have already closed your bikes in the warmth.... How do we stay together?

ALEX RINS 2nd

“I’m very happy and we made had an incredible weekend. During the first part of the race I was leading for twelve or thirteen laps and I pulled a good gap, but when the rain came Dovizioso and Rossi caught me. For the second half of the race, after the stoppage, I had more or less the same strategy; I tried to get the best start possible, and I pushed a lot because I really wanted the podium and fifth place in the championship. It feels great to have another podium. I hope next year I’ll be at the front in almost all the races, we got a lot of experience this year and I think we’re ready for it.”

MICHELE PIRRO 4th

”I’m very pleased however because after my crash at Mugello I once again did a good MotoGP race and Ducati won again at Valencia, which is important for all of us“

HAFIZH SYAHRIN 10th

"First of all, I just want to say thank you very much to my team. We didn’t expect, that we can arrive in the top 10 in wet conditions. There was a lot of drama, many riders crashed. We stopped the race and I was in P10. We believed that we can give a challenge to the other riders. For me, it was the first time, that I could do a full race in the wet, I learned many things. In the end, I’m just four points behind the best rookie, Franco Morbidelli. Congratulations to him! Anyway, I did my best. I want to thank all our sponsors, all my family and fans, that come to support me. I’m really happy to be here in MotoGP. Next week we start a new journey and I will keep on working hard. Thank you very much to everybody!"

REMY GARDNER 5th

"It was a race, in which I had to use my head and really had to feel into it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t that fast in the wet here like on some other tracks, but we brought it home in fifth, my best ever result in Moto2. I left it to the last race with Tech3, but I’m ecstatic as it’s been a long time coming. We put in a new tyre for the race and it took me about five laps to feel myself into it. I passed Fabio on the second last lap, but really didn’t want to battle him hard in the wet and managed to bring it home like this. I’m super happy for the team! It’s the last race for this bike and the last race with this engine, so I’m really glad we could finish on a high.”

MOTO3

ENEA BASTIANINI 5th

“It was a very difficult race, marked by many crashes in the very first moments. I had to be careful because every time I wanted to overtake, there was a crash in front of me! So the leading group ran away immediately and I had trouble to get them back. However, I managed to keep a good pace throughout the race, claiming many positions and crossing the finish line in 5th place: a nice end for this season and my Moto3 experience.”
