MOTOGP: A SURPRISINGLY COLD PHILLIP ISLAND...BUT THE NOLANGROUP RIDERS ARE STILL HOT!

The second race of the "Asian" tripleheader took place in Phillip Island this weekend. With windy and cold weather ... which put strain on riders, bikes and structures!

Unfortunately Nolan Group riders did not get on the podium but they proved themselves once again, fighting both opponents as well as bad luck.

Beautiful race for Alex Rins in MotoGP but not quite the position to match it, just 5th place! Excellent performances of Canet, Bastianini and Kornfeil in Moto3. Some difficulties though for Petrucci, his excellent start was made vain by a technical problem that pushed him out of the top ten.

The next race is at Sepang... The penultimate race! But EICMA is also coming! Come to visit us at our stand!

MOTOGP

ALEX RINS 5th

“It was an interesting race and I was able to learn a lot. During the first part, when I was inside the group, I was feeling good but then when I got the contact from Maverick I lost a lot of ground and it cost me a lot because the group got away, but this is racing. I also lost further time trying to overtake Miller. But we want to focus on the positive points, and there were many, for instance the way I was able to battle with Rossi and defend my 5th place. We’re going to Malaysia with good feelings and we are prepared, so we hope for another nice result there.”

DANILO PETRUCCI 12th

“It’s really a shame. I felt like I had a great feeling right from the warm-up. I went on track very focused and made my best start in my career. Unfortunately at turn two I had a problem with the clutch. I am really sorry but these are the races: once it is the rider who makes a mistake, another time it is the bike that betrays you. We’ll try again in Sepang”.

MOTO3

AARON CANET 6th

"I have made a better race than the last ones in which I participated. I have scored after fighting in a very large and complicated group. So, in races like this, the sixth position is very positive because I had been in four races without scoring, although the feeling is bitter because throughout the weekend I had the pace to fight for the victory; We have done it in the race and in the end the sixth place does not leave me completely satisfied. In races like this there can be no management work. I managed to place myself first, but with the rebufos it was not possible to maintain the position. It was a fun race, but it would have been much more if we had finished on the podium"

ENEA BASTIANINI 9th

"It was a very complicated race, I had a little grip and I did not go out of the corner at best: in these conditions it was difficult to take the right trail. In the last three laps I was fine and I had recovered, but I found myself outside on the last corner and I could not do more. "

JAKUB KORNFEIL 9th

"It was not the race we had hoped for. I did not show everything I could during the race. When I saw some dangerous situations in front of me, it was pretty crazy what happened there. I decided to stay a bit further behind to control the situation from there. Because I also knew that mistakes would happen from the others. J. Martin and P. Oettl got together into the corner in the last lap of the race and I was able to make up some positions. We finally became ninth. That's not the result we wanted to achieve. It's not bad to have more points in the bag, but our goal remains even further up the podium. The last race of the overseas trip is coming and we are going to Malaysia. A track that I really like - so I think we can deliver much more next week. My thanks go to my team for giving me a perfectly running bike. "
