MOTOGP CATALUNYA: A LOT OF EFFORT AND A LONG AWAITED VICTORY FOR THE NOLANGROUP RIDERS

The Catalan round, just one week after Mugello, was not as we would have hoped for our riders, struggling most at the MotoGP level.

So much effort exerted for Danilo Petrucci, finishing 8th, so not quite the same levels as some previous weeks. Meanwhile the good performances of Syahrin and Rins, have reaped no rewards on this occasion, with both riders ending their races off the bike.

There was a significant success though, in the Moto3 class with Enea Bastianini, his 3rd success in the category. Starting from pole position was the beginning if the successful weekend, as he was able to build on that to execute an intelligent and aggressive race. That said, it sounds simple, but the Moto3 race was a Russian roulette, full of unexpected moments.

Whilst it was warm in Spain, we are in for a far cooler weekend next up in the Netherlands. But that’s enough about racing, how about you? How’re your motorcycling endeavours going? Share them with us on our social media channels!

MOTOGP

DANILO PETRUCCI 8th

“I am satisfied with what I did in the first laps. I was with Pedrosa trying to manage the rear tire then I started to have a problem with the front as I could not brake hard. I was convinced I could be in the Top 5 but I am happy because I am 5th in the standings”.

HAFIZH SYAHRIN (NC)

"I felt really good during the race, but just made a mistake and went wide. I tried to come back to the right line and I had a highside immediately, so I crashed out. I’m truly sorry to the team. I try to learn from this mistake and I try to come back stronger. We could finish inside the top 9, but it was not meant to be. I can’t express, how sorry I feel for my guys and my sponsors and everybody that supports me. I promise, I try to make up for this in the next round."

MOTO3

ENEA BASTIANINI 1st

“It was a beautiful race! At the beginning I didn’t start very well, I saw that Martin was running away and I tried to recover some position. I knew he had the M tire and I didn’t push, I tried to manage mine for the end of the race. It would have been nice to fight with him until the end, but I’m sure I would have won it anyway today: I gave my 100% all weekend with my team, we worked really well. Barcelona is a special circuit for me, but we can be competitive on every track: from now on we can have fun! I want to dedicate this victory to Andreas [Perez] and to my friend Bryan [Toccaceli], he gave me the strength to believe in my own potential: when the last lap started, I thought about him.”
