MOTOGP LEMANS: GREAT PERFORMANCE BY THE NOLANGROUP RIDERS

The French Le Mans race is considered a classic in motorcycling and one of the most important and highly anticipated events of the World Championship.

Once again, the Nolan Group guys achieved honours, earnt with brilliant performances. Danilo Petrucci is edging ever closer to his first win, very fast in qualifying as well as in the race, second place for him. But also Rins and Syahrin, have placed amongst the best, considering it is their first time round in the top class.

In Moto3, Kornfeil raced well and had the moment of the weekend across all races with a spectacular jump while on the gravel, landing it and still finishing in 6th place! While Canet started last and fought like a lion for a 8th place finish, well deserved.

The next appointment, in the first weekend of June, is for our home race. The Mugello Grand Prix is waiting for us all, come along to cheer on our boys.

Will you be there?

DANILO PETRUCCI 2nd

“It is a great Sunday. I couldn’t get off to a good start but managed to stay with the leading group from first lap. I had a good pace and a great confidence. We did a great job this weekend. I am also pleased to have given the team a great satisfaction. See you at Mugello”.

ALEX RINS 10th

“This weekend has been very difficult for me, trying to manage everything and go fast. In the race I tried to find the balance, and I think finishing in tenth was a good result. I was fighting with Aleix, Maverick and Cal during the last laps and we got a good finish. Now I just need to work hard from Fridays onwards, because all the tracks from now on I have already ridden with the MotoGP bike. Things are going in a good way, and at the Mugello test we tried some useful things, so we’ll go there with our heads up and try to complete a good weekend.”

HAFIZH SYAHRIN 12th

JACUB KORNFEIL 6th

“I think we all enjoyed the race pretty much. It feels amazing to fight for the victory the whole race distance. However, I’m not so happy about the penalty I‘ve been given. I don’t quite understand why to be penalised for a manoeuvre giving absolutely no advantage to me and just helping to avoid any contacts during braking. Anyways, the big moment with Enea came and the first thing I was thinking of was to open the gas and stand up on the pegs. The landing was so heavy, my rear suspension went down to its maximum. It even activated my leathers‘ airbag. The last lap was really painful so could not wait to stretch my body after the race. Right after crossing the finish line, I left my bike to the marshalls, opened the leather tried to relax little bit. I think I won’t ever forget this race. I’m so happy for the 6th place finish and can’t wait to Mugello.“

ARON CANET 8th

It has been a race in which I had to recover ground with some caution. Even so, in the first laps I have climbed several positions, but after the group has lengthened and when I have reached the head of it, it has been very difficult to subtract those two seconds that separated us from the leading group. In the end I managed the eighth position and we were able to score points. We are third in the provisional and that keeps us very motivated. "
