MUGELLO: NOT A GENEROUS WEEKEND FOR OUR NOLANGROUP RIDERS

In MotoGP , there were good results in the top ten from Petrucci and Pirro , who both kept fighting on their Ducatis’ until the end. There was also an excellent performance from Hafizh Syahrin Moto2 , who finished 5th- which was observed well in his home country of Malaysia .While the score at Mugello was not too outstanding, it must be noted that our riders are growing in performance rapidly and effectively, therefore we can't wait to fly to the next Grand Prix in Barcelona , Catalonia , June 5th !

Moto GP Petrucci 8th

"It was a good race. My team always did a great job giving me the best bike finding the best solution for every little thing. I struggled in the first 4-5 laps, then I started to push to recover Smith. I tried to do my best and I set the best time with the four remaining laps. I am very happy with how the bike goes and how competitive it is. My regret is to have not been the best Independent rider, as Bradley passed me yesterday and he did it again today for very little, but I'm happy. I will take my revenge in Barcelona."

MotoGP Pirro 10th

“I have to be happy because I achieved my aim of finishing approximately twenty seconds from the winner. I could probably have done better, but half-way through the race I began to feel a vibration in the rear tyre, and in the last two laps this led me to reduce my pace. In any case it was a positive race because we took home some useful information on several new parts we are testing. I want to thank Ducati, the Test Team and all the guys working back in the factory, because we did a good job here and it’s always an emotional feeling to race at Mugello on a Ducati”.

Moto GP Bradl 14th

“It was definitely a demanding weekend for us. We did a lot of work, testing a lot of solutions, but I never found a 100% satisfactory setup. Even in the warm-up session we made a change that provided some benefits but that we need to look at more closely when we have more time. In the race I had a good start and then I tried to be aggressive straight away. I knew I didn't have the best pace, so I set my sights on staying with the group. Unfortunately, with ten laps left to go the rubber tank covering that is used to give your legs grip and to stabilise the bike detached, and on a track like this one that cost me the chance of making up a place”.

Moto2 Hafizh Syahrin 5th

"I lost time and position when I tried to battle with Lowes and Luthi .

If it were not for Lowes, I would be able to fight for the 3rd place.

Thank you all for believing in me and in the team.

Thanks also to the team who worked so hard to give me the best bike possible for the race . We'll try again !!!"

Moto 2 Danny Kent 14th

“It was a consistent weekend, we’ve consistently been a lot closer the front group. I’m much happier with the bike and I want to say a big thank you to the team who worked hard. We’ve proven we can be closer to the front. It was a good race and even though we finished 14th we were in the group fighting for seventh. Sadly in the race the wind changed a little and I was hitting the limiter a lot and I couldn’t pass them down the straight.”

Moto3 Enea Bastianini 12th“It was a very close and hard race: unfortunately I struggled to be fast down the straight and as a result I couldn’t be so strong on the braking at the first corner to pass other riders. Anyway, in the second part of the race I was able to set a good pace and thanks to a good slipstream I arrived in a good position at the braking point for the first corner, passing several riders. In the final laps we were still all very close, but I continued to struggle under braking and I was unable to gain other positions. Too bad, because my arm was not hurting too much and it has not particularly affected my riding. We need to try to solve these problems to try to be faster in the race: we always make a good qualifying because I can be fast when I ride alone on the track, but when I fight in a group, the other riders pass me under braking and as a result I can’t take the ideal line. We will try to make the most of tomorrow’s test here”.
