SILVERSTONE: NOLAN RIDERS GET VERY CLOSE TO THE PODIUM

Silverstone: During the longest racetrack of the 2016 championship, Nolan riders get very close to the podium!   What with it nearly measuring 6 kilometres in length, it’s clear to see that Silverstone claims the title of owning the longest racetrack in the whole of the MotoGP World Championship. The weekend consisted of typical British weather, with lots of clouds and many intervals of rain, yet all sessions have been spectacular.  Despite experiencing some difficult races, our Nolan Group riders have fought like lions.   Brilliant performances for Stefano Manzi (an incredible comeback for him – ascending from 34th to 4th position)  strong performance from Enea Bastianini in Moto3 and a near podium win for  Hafizh Syahrin in Moto2 ,  as he gained an excellent fourth place . Also, there was another top-ten performance from Danilo Petrucci- second Ducati at the finish and best amongst "desmoclients".   Next round is Nolan’s home race; The San Marino GP in Misano. We’ll be waiting to greet you with tour bikes and with your Nolan and X-Lite helmets. We want them well fastened- as always, safety comes first!

Danilo Petrucci 9th

"We managed to finish in the top 10 and it is good. Finally, the circuits  where I have more difficulties are finished and I am looking forward to going to Misano, a track that I see from my window. I wanted to catch Lorenzo but he was too far away. I thank the whole team for the work they have done in this GP. We have not given up, we are very united and it is great to work with them."

Moto2

Hafizh Syahrin 4th

"I am a bit disappointed for not delivering a podium finishing for everyone. It was so close! At the same time, I am thankful that I could push and fight with the front runners. We will keep on working hard and God willing, we will be up there on the podium eventually. Thank you everyone for the support!"

Moto 3

Stefano Manzi 4th

“Starting from the last row of the grid I didn’t have high expectations but I just wanted to aim for a points finish. I managed to get up to the top group of 15 and found that I could battle with them comfortably and nobody was making the break, so I just went for it. I really thought I had a chance of a podium until I had the coming together with Navarro. I am so sorry that he and Migno fell. I lost a bit of time then, but I am really happy with the result. The team did a fantastic job and the bike was perfect everywhere on the track, slow or fast.”

Enea Bastianini 7th

“We knew it would have been a difficult race because during weekend I’ve been struggling a bit in windy conditions, but today we were competitive and so I’m a little disappointed and angry because some riders made strong maneuvers during the race, therefore it was not easy to be able to stay in the top positions. In the final laps, then, I had some issues at Turn 7, where I couldn’t brake hard and to keep the line; I think that this problem actually prevented us from fighting for the podium."
