Stratospheric Estoril, sensational Magny Cours

Beginning with the Portugese MotoGp at Estoril. Our wonderful Space Man, Jorge Lorenzo beat a 'Galaxy' of talent with a gravity defying performance, trusting again, in his X-lite X-802 specially decorated to resemble the Space helmets of 40 years ago! First in every session, Jorge was quite literally, on another planet! Now trailing Rossi by 18 points, less than a race win, it's Warp speed ahead to Australia for the the next stage. Casey Stoner’s return to action after a 3 race lay off was hearalded with a superb performance, silencing his doubters and nailing second place after some breathtaking early action saw him scythe past first Rossi then Pedrosa to pursue Jorge to the flag. Marco Melandri however had to be content with 12th, his machine suffering from a chronic lask of development by the soon to be disbanded Hayate squad. A brief shout for Pasini, seventh in the 250's and Olive’s fifth place in 125cc. World Superbike circus was in Magny Cours, France and serving up a feast worthy of any Gallic table was the diminutive Xavier Simeon, crowned FIM 2009 Superstock Cup Champion, Bravo Xavier, superb! X-lite X-701, World Champion pedigree. In Superbike, Carlos Checa had a below par weekend, lacking feel on the TenKate Honda, he came sixth and ninth in the two races. Next races: MotoGp on 18th October, Philip Island in Australia and on 25th October, Portimao in the south of Portugal for the last Superbike race.
