SUPERBIKE: AN INCREDIBLE MISANO GIVES VICTORIES AND PODIUMS TO THE NOLANGROUP RIDERS

The Superbike races in Misano have been technical with two podiums for Chaz Davies and a podium for Marco Melandri in the race2, but also numerous placings by Lorenzo Savadori, Leon Camier and Tati Mercado.

Incredible victory in Supersport for Federico Caricasulo, king of the track in his home race, and in Superstock 1000 for Markus Reiterberger, always leader in the championship standings.

We at Nolan are truly honoured to support these lions who never give up!

What now? For the Superbike comes the summer break, and the championship will re-start in mid-September with the Portimao race.

Even when the races have a break, please note that at Nolan we never stop. We work incessantly to improve our products, on the track and on the road, thanks to our riders and testers, but also thanks to your advice.

We look forward to hearing your motorbike summer stories on our social channels ... After all, is this what  we work for!

SUPERBIKE

CHAZ DAVIES RACE1: 2nd

"We have to be happy with this result, it wasn't easy coming back from 7th position on the grid. I feel like we got the best out of the package and myself today. The Panigale R was working well, we just need to make a few more steps forward to win, so overall it's been a positive day. During the race I really understood the bike and got a clear idea of what we need to do to improve. We'll try to make the most of the data collected and come back even stronger for Race 2. We'll start from third row again, but I'm kind of used to it and today we got a blistering start, so hopefully we'll be able to repeat that."

MARCO MELANDRI RACE1: 7th

"Since we couldn't keep working on the setup yesterday afternoon due to the rain, we knew FP4 would have been crucial, especially to improve the feeling with the new front tyre. However, a technical problem kept us in the pits. This forced us to race without the usual confidence and, given also an ordinary start, it was a tough race out there today. Still, we managed to collect useful information, which we'll use to make more changes ahead of Race 2."

LORENZO SAVADORI RACE1: 8th

"In Race 1 I dropped too much time from the lead group at the start. In the middle of the race I was losing more time and I really had to push hard, and then I was losing places. P8 was not so bad but we could have had better, and it gave me a better position for Race 2."

LEON CAMIER RACE1: 9th

“We managed to finish in the top ten but we were expecting more today in the race. Although my pace on used tyres was really good in the second half of the race, I wasn't able to get the most out of the new tyres in the first part of the race which really hurt us. The team and I will look over the data and work out what happened and how to fix it for Race 2. If we can find a solution, then starting from the second row tomorrow I hope we can achieve the kind of result our potential here has shown we're capable of.”

MARCO MELANDRI RACE2: 3rd

"It's been a super fun race. After a difficult and unlucky weekend so far, together with the team we finally found an ideal setup for the new front tyre. Unfortunately, we couldn't ride in FP3 and FP4 and this penalized us in Race 1, but today we redeemed ourselves. I felt comfortable on the bike, I could be aggressive and I fought a nice battle with Rea, even though it made us lose a bit of ground on VD Mark. Towards the end I wanted to attack but, after a couple of big risks, I realised we were too close to the limit. Anyhow, it's nice to go on holiday with a podium and I'm confident we'll soon win again."

CHAZ DAVIES RACE2: 4th

"Today I felt we had the potential to be in the mix and it was a good battle early on, but after five or six laps we unexpectedly started to struggle with rear traction. I'm a little bit disappointed, because we made some changes after Race 1 but we didn't go the right way. That said, overall it's been a really good, solid weekend, much better than last year, so I can't complain. In the last couple of races we've been consistent and uncovered a few important details. Going into the summer break just missing the podium will put a little extra fire in the belly ahead of the last four rounds."

LORENZO SAVADORI RACE2: 7th

"The first part of Race 2 was difficult, and it’s still an area I have problems with. The front tyre and fuel load made the bike hard to ride and I wasn’t able to push. I lost too much time to the guys ahead really, my pace in the middle was not so bad and I got close to Lowes near the end, but I was too far to catch up. If we can improve this area then for sure it will help me a lot to fight."

SUPERSPORT

FEDERICO CARICASULO 1st

"I'm really happy to win here at Misano, as it's always special to win in front of your home crowd. This weekend I had the perfect bike and for that I need to thank both my team and Yamaha for their work and commitment. There is no better way to end the first half of the season with a win, so we go into the summer break on a high."

STOCK 1000

MARKUS REITERBERGER 1st

"After we could not bring home the best result in Brno, we again found back here in Misano to the correct mixture. The track was brutally slippery today, but that was the same for everyone. I was surprised how fast Scheib was in the race. He was even slower in practice and qualifying – he put me under pressure. Pole record, pole position, new track record and victory in the race – that’s all there is to it. My team has provided me with the optimal bike again and look forward to Portimao and Le Mans.“
