Superbike flies to Portimao and gives an ocean of emotions to fans. The Portuguese track is always technical and spectacular and will soon host MotoGP too, fleeing Covid-19 and always looking for new tracks.
Ours have done well. Chaz Davies, struggling in race 1, was later the protagonist of an incredible comeback, while Federico Caricasulo is growing fast and is always spectacular. Some difficulties for Marco Melandri, not yet at ease in Portimao on the Lusitanian track.
The next round will be double: 2 consecutive weekends in Aragon where it will still be very hot.

SUPERBIKE:
CHAZ DAVIES RACE1: 11th
"It was a very difficult day and I must admit to being disappointed, especially after the weekend in Jerez where the sensations and the results were positive. I had problems with the bike from the first laps and we will try to understand what happened. to find a solution for tomorrow's two races.
FEDERICO CARICASUOLO RACE1: 15th
“For the entire weekend we concentrated on improving our race pace compared to Jerez, and we managed to do so: in Spain, I crossed the finish line 38 seconds after the leader and today the gap was of only 30. I’m still not perfectly comfortable on the bike but we will try to fix that problem for tomorrow’s races so I can reduce the gap further. That’s the objective for the Tissot Superpole Race too, as I hope to have an aggressive start and stay closer to the front.”
MARCO MELANDRI RACE1: 17th
"So far, the whole weekend has been hard. We tried to chase the improvements, but changing a lot we have never found significant benefits. In the race we started with a slightly different set-up to the Superpole, in some areas things were going better, in others we are still struggling. After few laps I was struggling to stop the bike and make it spin quickly. We have to keep our spirit high by getting as much data as possible and then we have to put everything in order for Aragon, which will be a better track for us."
CHAZ DAVIES RACE2: 4th
"The goal is always to bring home a trophy but I have to admit it was still a good race. I take this fourth place with satisfaction, especially after all the problems we had this weekend. Unfortunately, the contact with Laverty in SuperPole Race forced me to start from the fifth row and this didn't allow me to stay with the front group. The race pace, however, was very good and for this reason, I am satisfied. Now we move to Aragon for two-days testing. It will be an important opportunity to prepare for the next six races."
FEDERICO CARICASULO RACE2: 9th
“Good day today, in an overall good weekend. We always improved race after race, solving the little setup issues we had. In the Superpole Race, despite a bad start, I managed to run a pace that was better than yesterday’s and improved my position, whereas in Race 2 I chose the soft tyre, and, despite losing some pace towards the end, I again reduced my gap from the leader, so I am happy. I am also happy to have finished in the top-10. I will use it as a good base to build upon, and I hope to do well again at Aragón, where we will have two consecutive races to keep growing.”
MARCO MELANDRI RACE2: 14th
"It has been a weekend to forget in many ways. Unfortunately, we worked hard but we weren't able to achieve what we wanted to. I've been in trouble from Friday and trying to improve the setup, in some cases, we lost our way. I am really sorry because the team did a great job and I couldn't give them the weekend they deserved. I am so sorry and I am even more motivated for the next race."
