WORLDSBK: MISANO - TOUGH HOME RACE FOR NOLANGROUP RIDERS, BUT SOME SUCCESSES ACHIEVED

Difficult conditions in one of the reaces but a solid placement for Chaz Davies, finishing 5th, tougher for Melandri and a kind of victory for Caricasulo, having to give in to his team mate, even with the championship in reach.

A more pleasant surprise was the performance of Rinaldi in the Superpole race, fighting well amongst the bigger names! Showing the fighting spirit that is within all of our guys out on the track, even when things don’t always go the way we wish!

Now for you at home or at the track spectating, are you soon off on your holidays? Or still at work?

Either way if you have anything to share with our products, please do!

Chaz Davies Race1 FIFTH

"It was the first wet race with the Panigale V4 R so overall it wasn’t such a bad performance. I had a problem in the middle of the race with the electronic shifter, then it cleared itself and was fine again, it was probably water-related. That upset my rhythm a bit because I was more or less in with the fight for the podium. I lost a bit of time trying to manually backshift, but to a limited effect. In the last four laps I got back into the rhythm again but the gap to the others was a bit too much. I was quite happy with the feeling with the bike in those conditions, it’s just a shame we didn’t really get to fight with the right package for the whole race distance."

Michael Ruben Rinaldi Superpole Race SEVENTH - Race 2 FIFTH

"On the dry we knew we were in place and, despite a very slippery track, I managed to push. When I saw that I was able to gain ground on Lowes and Haslam I forced a bit more, but when I realized that the risk of slipping was too high I tried not to exceed the limit. This race is proof that, after half a working season, our package works well. We have a good set-up base and even the suspensions work great thanks to the support that Showa gives us, always bringing new updates. There is still a lot of work to do on this bike, but we are on the right track."

Chaz Davies Race2 SEVENTH

"It has been a difficult Sunday for me. I lost the front in the Superpole Race in Turn 14, and as a result didn’t get the chance to start in the top 9 for Race 2. Then we made some changes for Race 2, but they didn’t give us the step we needed. It was a critical racetrack today because grip was low, but it was the same for everyone. I just felt like I’ve got no adaptability with the bike, even though I tried to change my style during the race. It’s a bit frustrating to finish races like that, because I know we can do better than that. We just need to learn from the information and work hard in the areas that are letting us down at the moment."

SUPERSPORT

Federico Caricasulo SECOND

"It was a difficult race as there wasn’t much grip and the bike was sliding around. I tried to conserve the tyres for the last laps and moved into the lead as planned in the final stages. Randy was aggressive through the last two corners though and got past me and I was unable to get back in front. I’m sorry because I would have liked to win in front of my public. I will try to make up for it at Donington. Thanks to my team as they’ve all worked really hard for me this weekend."
