MOTOGP: PODIUMS, PLACINGS AND UNEXPECTED EVENTS IN CATALUNYA FOR NOLANGROUP RIDERS

The Catalunya Grand Prix at Montmelo is a long-awaited race on a technical and difficult circuit. The Nolan Group riders are also almost all home riders and have done their utmost.

Unlucky race for Alex Rins, centered in full at the first corner and now with a fractured wrist while more satisfactions have come for Aron Canet, one step away from the victory that continues to elude him, and Manuel Gonzalez, also good this time to fight with the best .

Furthermore, a solid race for Michele Pirro, test rider and Ducati rider, just a stone's throw from the points zone and at the same time committed to development work for Ducati.

And now? Two weeks off before the Sachsenring, where we will race, hopefully with the cool. This is also a great potential motorbike holiday. Have we given you an idea?

MOTOGP

MICHELE PIRRO: 16th

"It was a difficult race in which we tried to collect important data that could allow us to improve. In the first laps I lost contact with the Top 15 and this did not allow me to take advantage of the opportunity. I am sorry because it was a result within our reach. However, we still have a chance in Misano and we will give it our all."

ALEX RINS: DNF

"First of all, I hope that Taka is OK, because I saw him in the medical centre, and I saw the replay of the crash, and it was very bad. You never want to see anyone injured, especially not a fellow rider. However, a mistake by him has cost me today, and another race with zero points is hard to take. I had a lot of potential today and strong pace, and I felt it could’ve been a really good race for me. But there’s nothing I can do now, and let’s see what the diagnosis is at the hospital."

ARON CANET: 2nd

"I'm happy with this second place at home. Of course it would have been better to win and I fought until the end but unfortunately I didn't make it.

I thank all my team and my sponsors who always support me. I'm ready to give it my all next time. "

MANUEL GONZALEZ: 9th

"It has been one of the best Sundays of the season!

I started reall well and during the first laps I could overtake some riders and stay with the front group.

I was having a good rhytm, I was confident with the bike. The feeling was really good even if I was struggling a bit with the hot conditions. During the last 5 laps, I lost a bit of time and I went a bit far from the guys in front of me because i felt less strength in the right forearm. But at the end, the result was better than the objective. We did an incredible job and we have to continue like this!"
